What are the two basic types of injuries?
There are two types of injuries: overuse injuries and acute injuries. Acute injuries are usually the result of a single, traumatic event, for examples cover wrist fractures, ankle sprains, shoulder dislocations, and hamstring muscle strain.
Chronic injuries often referred to as overuse injuries – damages resulting from overusing one body area while playing a sport or exercising over a long period. Some common examples of chronic wounds are stress fractures, tennis elbow, shin splint, runner’s knee and heel inflammation.
An overuse injury is any muscle or joint damage, such as tendinitis or a stress fracture, that caused by repetitive trauma. An overuse injury typically stems from Training errors. Training faults can occur when you take on too much physical activity too quickly.
An overuse injury, on the other hand, is damage to a bone, muscle, ligament, or tendon due to repetitive stress without allowing time for the body to heal. Overuse injuries are more subtle and frequently occur over time. They are the result of repetitive micro-trauma to the tendons, bones and joints.
A Soft Tissue Injury is the collapse of muscles, ligaments and tendons throughout the body. Common soft tissue injuries frequently occur from a sprain, strain, a one-off blow resulting in a wound or overuse of a particular part of the body.
